08.04.76 Cleveland, OH, intro to ´It´s My Life´
´´ I used to live in this small town....was about 10,000 people,
I guess....I used to live on, like, this main highway...in this two-family house...and
at night....my old man used to lock up the frontdoor so that me and my sister
used to have to come in ´round, ´round through the kitchen....and
every night....all the time that I stayed home with him....my father used to
sit in the kitchen with all the lights out, just smoke a cigarette....drink
beer, my mother used to sit in the...frontroom with all the lights out, just
the TV on.....so if you came in around, if you came in around 10 or 11 o´clock
at night, it wasn´t too bad....´cause he hadn´t been sitting
there too long....but if me and my sister came in around....1 or 2, after my
Pop´d been sitting there for a while....he´d always be a little
drunk and wanna stop me and....talk to me about something, there was always
something on his mind....first he´d start to ask me how I was doing in
school, how things was going, if I was happy in there....then he´d start
to ask me why I was living the way I was, why I was out so late, who I was hanging
around with.... pretty soon we´d be screaming at each other...my mother´d
be running in from the frontroom trying to keep us from fighting with each other....I´d
be running out the, running out the backdoor, telling him....telling him how
it was my life, I could do what I wanted to do.....”
