´´Is it quitting time ?….is it, is it, is it like going home

25.09.02 Chicago, IL, intro to ´My City of Ruins´
´´Thank you….ooh….I wanna thank everybody for coming
down to the show tonight, thank you very much….(?) a great night, a lot
of fun, a lot of fun….we got some friends in the crowd tonight (?) in
the lobby tonight on your way out, you´ll see our friends from the Greater
Chicago Food Depository….they´re a food distribution center working
to feed the hungry people here in (?) County, they started in ´79, they´re
one of the largest foodbanks in the country, they feed more than 300,000 people
each year….and uh….they deserve your, uh, if you get a chance on
the way out, please check ´em out, they deserve your time and your support,
40 % of the people they feed are kids and uh….they´re putting, uh….those
are the folks that are on the frontline doing some of the things I´m singing
about so this is for them….´´
25.09.02 Chicago, IL, intro to ´Born in the U.S.A´
´´Once again, thanks for coming out tonight, thank you so much….gonna
leave you with just a couple of public service announcements, one, of course
is the Greater Chicago Food Depository, once again, check ´em out on your
way out, please….they can use your support….the other´s just
a general heads-up, we’re in the midst of a rollback in Civil Rights right
now, Civil Rights are a reaffirmation of our strength as a nation of laws, due
process.....in, uh, times of emergency, they get pretty run (?) you don’t
look at it till it’s too late or it comes knocking at your door, that´s
something to be very vigilant about, also there´s a lot of talk of war
in the air, it’s never served this country well to rush into a war (?)
deman a full debate on it..... whatever your feelings are about it….that
vigilance and that responsobility comes with the turf when you´re born
in the U.S.A....´´
