26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´Darkness on the Edge of Town´
´´Danke !....that´s all my German there (chuckles)....I wrote
this song in, uh, 1978....when I was, uh....I was living on a farm in, in New
Jersey and uh....I was going through some hard times at the time....and kind
of, guess it´s a story about, uh, having to....kind of strip everything
away from yourself to be able to find yourself anew again....uh.....let´s
do it.... ”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ‘Dancing in the Dark’ (after
´Darkness on the Edge of Town´)
´´Here´s another song about...trying to find yourself again....do
it every ten years or so (chuckles)....you can´t find what´s out
there ´less you get lost a little bit, you know, it´s good for you
(chuckles)....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´57 Channels´
´´There´s a lot of violence in the U.S.A right now....inner
cities at a crisis point....there´s a lot of people not (?) the small
respect, the modest respect that it takes to raise your family, to find your
place in the world you live in....cities burning.....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´If I Should Fall Behind´
´´This is uh....this is a song, it´s sort of uh....I guess
it´s about compassion.....whether it´s with your lover (?) or your
friends and your neighbors....das ist ein Song uber Freundschaft und (?)....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´Leap of Faith´
´´Wait a minute now...has anybody out there ever lost their faith
in love ? (cheers) have you lost your faith in love before ? (cheers)(?) if
you´ve lost your faith in love, let me see your hands....gotta be more
people lost their faith in love at least once than that (chuckles) let´s
check it out....”

like a real man.....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´Thunder Road´
´´This is uh....this song I wrote when I was, uh....20, 24 years
old....(?)....I guess at the time it was sort of....it was kind of a dream that
I had.....when I was a very young man....and....it´s funny you always
think, gee, you write better as you grow older and I think that in some ways
that´s true but sometimes you go back and you´ll be surprised that
kind of how much .....uh, I guess where writing comes from is it comes up out
of your soul, it, uh....you´re kind of surprised how much you sort of
knew about yourself at the time....and this is a song, uh ....I guess I´ve
been lucky in that the things that I dreamed about when I was 24....you know,
I think....when I put this, this man and this woman in this car in this song....they,
they didn´t get lost, they rode around for a very long time (chuckles)
but uh, but they didn´t get lost....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, middle of ´Light of Day´
´´(?) we came all the way from the U.S.A, we went first via Stockholm,
Sweden....(?) we went to Milano....where we had every kind of Italian food you
can imagine, we had pasta marinera, we had pasta primavera, we had spaghetti
till it was coming out of our ears....(?) we came on down to Frankfurt, Germany....and
that´s where we´re here tonight, I wanna know are you ready to testify
? (cheers) are you ready to testify ? (cheers) are you ready to testify right
now ? (cheers) are you ready to testify right now ? (cheers) is there any spirit
out there tonight ? (cheers) is there any spirit out there tonight ? (cheers)
I wanna hear the spirit that´s out there tonight (cheers)....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´Follow That Dream´
´´(people yell ´Born to Run´) You´re not ready
for that yet, you´re not ready for that yet.... this is a song that, uh....I
guess a part of it was an Elvis Presley song and I changed some of the words
and changed some (?)....so, uh....and some friends from Italy requested this
tonight ....”
26.06.92 Frankfurt, Germany, intro to ´Born to Run´
´´Do I hear a request out there ?....”
